How many of you Hockey fans are one-dimensional?

Go Red Wings! asked:

Meaning, do a lot of you ONLY like Hockey and ONLY watch Hockey… sometimes to the point that you will **** on other sports? I am just curious.

It may be just the sports atmosphere here in Detroit, but I love Hockey, Baseball, and Football (even though we have the worst football franchise in the history of sports) all equally. I look forward to all of them equally every year… well maybe not as much Lions as I look forward to Red Wings and Tigers :-D (For the record, I think basketball is the most absurd sport in the world, and I never watch it *except final 4*)

Discuss.
The reason I don’t like Basketball: The excitement factor. The same thing happens ever minute or so, nothing exciting happens in basketball except for some big guy leaping through the air to place a ball in a hoop. Obviously common sense states why Hockey and Football are exciting. And for Baseball… anything could possibly happen on any play, that is why as a baseball fan I am so in tune when I watch a game. If you look away for a moment you may miss a HR, Triple, Double-play, even an error.

I just don’t find basketball exciting. Its also the only sport where most of the time the only part of the game that matters is the last quarter. That’s is why March madness is so freakin awesome, high intensity, 2 half’s, players play their hearts out. You don’t find that in the lazy NBA.
That makes sense… but here is a scenario. In basketball, HUGE point leads are uncommon because of the frequency of scoring points back and forth. Lets say for instance in a hockey game a team scores 4 goals in the first. The chances of the other team matching that throughout the rest of the game is low. Has it happened and can it happen? of course. But is it likely? No. Same thing for football and especially baseball. Teams can show up early and create a large point deficit and ALMOST seal the fate of the other team. That is why those sports, in my opinion, are more exciting. A team can score at any rate or be stopped at any rate. With basketball that’s not as much the case.
Now after that happens does it make THE REST of the game less exciting? well that depends on which side of the ball or puck you root for, and that is a whole different subject :D

Will Hillary play the “hockey card”?

Since she already won PA, she doesn’t need to win over Penguins fans, so will she say she wants the Red Wings to win the Cup in order to seem like a regular person?
Especially since Michigan has that problem with its delegates not being seated, and the fact that the Penguins beat her New York Rangers, will Hill play on people’s emotions about their hockey team in order to gain their votes in the general election?

Who is a Red Wings Fan?

Jake asked:

I just need to know who here worships the Best Hockey Team Ever like me!!

By the way the Pens fans at game six couldn’t get over the fact they lost. Chants like

“Lets go Pens”?? Lets go to the locker room?
“Fluery”? Fluery didn’t come through for you guys, sorry!
Actually the Red Wings don’t have very many bandwagon fans. If you go to southeast Michigan the Wings and the Tigers are what were about.

Oh, and The Red Wings will get No. 12 this season.
