Flying Insect with red wings and quite large stinger?

The most unusual insect flew into my kitchen today in Coventry, England. I’ve never saw anything like it before.
It was about the size of a wasp ( maybe bigger ), it was black all over with red wings, it flew with its sting downwards too. The stinger itself was about the same size as the insects lower body, quite thin like a normal insects stinger, just bigger.
Anyone have any idea what it is? Ive googled it early to find nothing that looks similar, please help?
